Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that we have been working with our hosting service to resolve the issue. They have cleaned our servers, rebooted the system and removed the script from the default page. At 2pm today they confirmed that the problem is now fixed.

In a 'security centric' world ALL social media sites 'should' learn from the past lessons of other industry peers. Social media sites have a responsibility to all users to protect their data accuracy, validity and integrity and the users have a responsibility to remain educated, inform the site owners of 'suspect' breaches, malicious code or the compromise of their account. A synergistic relationship between site provider and user creates the most ideal and productive 'collaborative' environment. I'm glad (yet again) Google has taken a proactive vs reactive approach to Google+...yet again exactly what I'd expect from an industry leader
All in my own opinion~

Excellent findings. I came here through a Matt Cutts tweet.

Finally Google has stepped in to prevent session hijacking, packet sniffing and all kinds of other malicious activities. I guess all those who were hoping to use their Firesheep extension will be disappointed with the news.

Great article. I wonder if this header information which makes Google+ so "secure" may be a factor in SERP placement. That is, whether or not you have that level of security determines placement. I don't know. That's just an off-the-cuff thought. ;)

Do you know of any nice summary for webdevelopers regarding the secure implementation of SSL and webcookies? I personally am not familiar with half of those HTTP headers.

I'm quite surprised HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) is not utilized; seems like a good thing to throw in to complement the secure cookies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Strict_Transport_Security
